Tooteko

Tooteko is a multidisciplinary consultancy for inclusive and digital museums. The company was born with the aim of improving the quality of life of people with visual disabilities, through the study, research, production and marketing of products and services based on digital technologies.

Tooteko makes use of information and communication technologies, of 3D printing, 3D scanning, video mapping, immersive, virtual and augmented reality. Their aim is to make the artistic heritage accessible to a wider audience, according to the principles of inclusive design.

This approach is important, because it explores the potential of an exhibition accessible to visually impaired visitors, and also to all other visitors.

The devices created by Tooteko can be used and appreciated by visually impaired visitors, as well as general audience. By creating solution that works for both audiences, Tooteko does 2 things:

• Improves accessibility for people with visual disabilities, because they have access at the same content, rather than having different and dedicated devices. This approach favours the feeling of inclusion.
• Allows visitors without a visual disability to explore, experience and connect with art in a different and more interactive way, through tactile models, structures and forms.
