Reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities in the cultural sector
What is it?
The Centre for Equal Opportunities and Opposition to Racism (the Centre) has produced a series of 10 practical booklets on the reasonable accommodation that can be made for people with disabilities or reduced mobility in 10 sectors of everyday life: culture, hospitality, public services, shops, etc. In this way, it seeks to raise awareness of the concept of reasonable accommodation among suppliers of goods and services. Above all, this booklet is intended to be a practical and useful tool to help event organisers, museum and theatre managers, and library managers to implement reasonable accommodation in the cultural sector. The examples come from a study by the Centre de Recherche et d’Information des Organisations (CRIOC), carried out at the request of the Centre, as well as from the Centre’s day-to-day practice.
