My Accessible Museum (Mon Musée Accessible)

What is it?

Mon Musée Accessible is a training designed by museums, for museums. It was designed to meet a need for training staff in cultural places to welcome and support people with disabilities.

The project meets the following objectives:

  • Raising awareness and training the staff of cultural institutions on accessibility, within their business scope
  • Encourage institutions to engage in a more ambitious approach to accessibility

Why is it important? / How can it help the professionals of the cultural sector?

This program is very important because it aims to empower employees to improve the museum experience for all:

  1. By discovering tools and best practices to facilitate their interactions with all audiences
  2. By participating, whatever their profession, in the transformation of their museum towards a more accessible place
