My Accessible Museum (Mon Musée Accessible)
What is it?
Mon Musée Accessible is a training designed by museums, for museums. It was designed to meet a need for training staff in cultural places to welcome and support people with disabilities.
The project meets the following objectives:
- Raising awareness and training the staff of cultural institutions on accessibility, within their business scope
- Encourage institutions to engage in a more ambitious approach to accessibility
Why is it important? / How can it help the professionals of the cultural sector?
This program is very important because it aims to empower employees to improve the museum experience for all:
- By discovering tools and best practices to facilitate their interactions with all audiences
- By participating, whatever their profession, in the transformation of their museum towards a more accessible place
