INKultur
What is it?
The project aims to provide people with disabilities in countries of Eastern Europe and in Germany equal access to art and culture. The INKULTUR team conducts advanced trainings, creates online video courses on inclusion and accessibility, collaborates with cultural institutions, develops inclusive art projects, organises meetings of experts.
Why is it important? / How can it help the professionals of the cultural sector?
As a part of the project, a paper on how to make your cultural institution more accessible and inclusive was created. At the heart of this strategy lies the question of how people with disabilities can be actively included in the business models of public cultural institutions. The primary objective is to build an inclusive mindset at all levels of cultural institutions. The starting point is evident: in order for cultural institutions to become more diverse, inclusive and participatory, more people with disabilities need to actively shape them as experts in their own right and be involved in relevant decision-making processes. It is important for the cultural institutions and professionals to not only try to make culture more accessible from the outside, but by also engaging people with disabilities in this process.
